The great city of the Elves and capital of Avanor, the Elven Kingdom, Imhelroh stood for generations as a beacon of art, beauty, magic, and philosophy. The Elves who returned from the Feywild to aid the other Kith against the dragons during the Second Age first settled here and raised a great city as a monument to themselves. It stood strong and majestic for nearly 600 years, and once housed one of the great Orbs of Dragonkind for a generation, but when they chose to deny the demands of the fledgling Drakken Empire, they made a terrible enemy. War came to Avanor, and one by one the great citadels of the Elves were broken until Imhelroh remained as their last great city. The Empire offered one chance to surrender, and when it was refused, a monstrous green dragon reduced the city to ruins and plundered its wealth. The ruins remain on the shore of Lake Ven’ah, visible on a clear day from Aislin. The ruins are said to be haunted by many undead, and many treasure hunters spread rumors of the relics and wonders that might remain in the rubble.
